These general instructions are typical for most Windows systems.
Download can take up to 50 minutes on 56Kbps connections.

Download:

1. Click on link to download the ZIP file songs00.zip
2. When the File Download window appears, "Save" this program to disk.
3. Save in "Desktop" and the file will download to your Desktop
4. If the Download Complete window appears, click Close.

Set Up:

1. Double-click the new icon on the Desktop labeled songs00.zip
2. Extract all files or Unzip when the Self-Extracting window appears.
3. Create or choose a folder to extract the files into.
4. Write down this location so you can find the file later.
5. After completing the file extraction, if the Self-Extractor window is still open, close it.

Run:

1. Find the folder that you extracted the files to.
2. Open the Folder named "songs00".
3. Double-click the File named "songs00.htm" to start.
4. Enjoy

Desktop Shortcut and Icon

The downloaded folder includes a Red Musical Note Icon that you can place on your computer desktop as a shortcut to Songs For Social Studies.

The Icon file name is "songsicon.ico".

On Windows Operating Systems

1. Locate and open the folder containing the Songs For Social Studies Files.
2. Right Click on the file "songs00.htm" and choose "Send To .." and "Desktop (create shortcut)".
3. Minimize all windows to see your desktop and find the new - Shortcut to songs00.htm.
4. Right Click on the shortcut and choose "Properties"
5. Select the option to "Change Icon".
6. Browse to the folder you found in step 1. and select "songsicon.ico".
7. You can change the name of the Icon in the "General" tab.
8. Select "Open" then "OK" then "Apply" then "OK".
